One thing that sets me apart from traditional financial planners immediately puts my clients at ease. That is, I don’t sell any investment or insurance products and I do not actively manage accounts. I am, however, licensed with the Securities and Exchange Commission within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to dispense investment advice as an Investment Advisor Representative by passing the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Exam also known as the Series 65 Exam. By charging you an hourly fee rather than a commission or percentage based on your portfolio, I am able to give you objective investment advice from an unbiased position. My investment philosophy is the same for you as it it for myself. I look for low cost, high performing mutual funds to create diverse portfolios which match the needs of the investment objective whether it’s short-term, long-term, growth or safety oriented.
I am qualified to make specific recommendations for how to invest money in your retirement, college savings and non-retirement investment accounts to ensure you are invested appropriately. This includes: 401k, 403b, 401a, and 457 and Profit Sharing Retirement Plans as well as IRA’s (including Traditional, Roth, Rollover and SEP) and 529 College Savings Plans. I will thoroughly investigate the funds available in your particular Employer Sponsored Retirement Pan seeking to optimize your portfolio and make best use of the choices available to you as well as help you better understand your plan and your choices.
I’m able to help you decide what to do with inactive retirement plans and determine whether keeping them in place or rolling them over into a new plan or Rollover IRA makes sense for you. I will also help you set up and/or navigate your online investment accounts so that you can self-manage them easily and independently. Empowering you to understand and manage your money and investments is my ultimate goal and I will provide as much or little support as you desire.
Every Investment Advisor Representative licensed by the SEC is required by law to provide a full disclosure statement called the ADV Part 2 which clearly states in plain language how he or she will be compensated for the advice they offer you. Should you seek my advice with your investments, you will be asked to sign a document indicating that you have seen and fully understand this form. While it seems a cumbersome process, I fully support this requirement as it is designed to protect clients from being charged hidden fees which can come in many forms.
